Sausage and Apple Herbed Stuffing

My friend made this dressing several years ago. I have been in love with it ever since.

Ingredients:

1/2 lb pork sausage
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
1 1/2 cup sliced celery
1 1/2 cup chopped onion
1 package (14oz) herb-seasoned cubed stuffing
1/2 cup sweetened dried cranberries
2 cups coarsely chopped apples
1 tbs Rosemary Herb Seasoning Mix (or any mix that contains parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme)
2 cans (14oz) chicken broth

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 350. Place sausage into skillet and cook over medium heat. Remove from heat and transfer sausage to a paper towel-lined plate.

2. Add butter to skillet. Heat over medium heat 1-3 minutes until foamy. Add chopped celery and onions and cook for 4-5 minutes or until vegetables are crisp-tender.

3. In mixing bowl, combined stuffing, cranberries, apples, seasoning, and sausage. Add vegetables to the mixture and broth. Toss until moistened.

4. Spoon stuffing into a cooking pan (cake pan will do) and cover. Bake for 30 minutes. Remove the cover and bake another 30 minutes or until the dressing is golden brown.

5. Enjoy!
